Greek Word of the Day

I’ve gotten in the habit of posting a Greek word up here every once in a while for the benefit of all (especially me). So, today I would like to introduce you to:

οἰκοδεσπότης

This word is only used twelve times in the NT. It reminds me of a quote by Ahhnold. You get bonus credit if you can name that quote.

  1. master of the house, householder

  2. yes – but “oiko..” gives a hint since oikos is house

  3. comound words are nice that way – though certainly we’d want to be sure. a word that occurs 12 times isn’t one that will be common!
