I’ve gotten in the habit of posting a Greek word up here every once in a while for the benefit of all (especially me). So, today I would like to introduce you to:
οἰκοδεσπότης
This word is only used twelve times in the NT. It reminds me of a quote by Ahhnold. You get bonus credit if you can name that quote.

yes – but “oiko..” gives a hint since oikos is house
True enough. I suppose if you really work on it you can come out with something like “house despot.”
comound words are nice that way – though certainly we’d want to be sure. a word that occurs 12 times isn’t one that will be common!
