Per some advice in my previous post, I looked at several academic journals yesterday while my wife was grocery shopping. I emailed those journals book review editors to see about the possibility of doing a book review for them. Of course I knew that I would have some rejections. In fact, I’m certain that many [...]

I’ve just got a couple of quick questions for anyone out there. I’d like to start writing articles and book reviews for academic journals at some point. Which journals should I write for? How difficult is it to get accepted to those journals? Any processes that I will need to go through? MSE

I thought it fitting that I should do a top ten list of the things that I’m thankful for this year. Considering how little we have this year financially, I’ve really been forced to think about how much we do have in every other way. So, here it goes. I’m thankful for: God’s faithfulness and [...]

It’s that time of year again. Holiday decorations are starting to appear, Christmas songs are being played incessantly, and Black Friday is a couple of days off. Usually I love this season, but I can’t seem to get into the holiday spirit. I fear it’s because we don’t have much this year. Money is at [...]

My old high school is losing their biology teacher to a local college over the semester break. I caught word of this and sent off an email to the principal there to let her know that I would love to work at my alma mater. I always enjoyed my time there in high school and [...]

Yesterday, Brooke and I stayed after the church service ended for their Thanksgiving lunch. I’ve not really been a big potluck kind of person in the past, but this food was goooooood! Not only that, but so many people there have been very nice to us. It’s quite a difference from the last church we [...]

As a rule, I do not believe that signing a piece of paper does anything by itself. So, when these things like this Manhattan Declaration come along, I look it over then ignore it. Seriously, why would signing this document change anything? It doesn’t. Either stand up yourself and go do something (ie. on federal, [...]

I was tagged by Nick for this meme. In it I have to discuss my greatest grammar foible. Mine has to be placement of commas. Sometimes I’ll add one where there isn’t one necessary or I’ll leave one out where there should be. Drives me crazy. I tag everyone who reads this post. If you [...]

This whole job hunt for months and months is making me sick. I’ve done everything right, but can’t get a job. Maybe I just graduated at the wrong time for it, but telling myself that doesn’t help anything. So, what do you say to me starting my own business? I don’t want to share details [...]
