I thought I’d start my very own meme. This is a first for this blog, so I hope everyone takes time to do this. I’m wondering what everyone’s favorite Bible movies are and why. Also, what one Bible movie would you like to see made that hasn’t been?
Here are my top three (in no particular order):
Solomon and Sheba (1959). You all know of Yul Brynner as Rameses in The Ten Commandments, but it’s just fun to see him as a different biblical character. Granted, this movie is just barely biblical, but Yul is awesome!
The Story of Ruth (1960). I like this one. It really brings Ruth alive. The sets are terrible, but the story is brilliantly told.
Peter and Paul (1981). Before Silence of the Lambs, Anthony Hopkins was Paul! Obviously there are many discrepancies since the movie tried to tie Peter and Paul together more than they should have, but the emotion Hopkins puts into Paul – it’s amazing!
And for the one movie that I’d like to see made, I’m going to say the story of the left-handed man, Ehud and the moabite king, Eglon.
I realize that the balance is in favor of OT over NT here, but it is what it is. Now, I tag Nick, Jason, John, Joel, and Michael.

A literal depiction of the events in the book of Revelation would be awesome.
That would be very cool. That reminds me of a show I watched last night – Supernatural. Apparently the first horseman, War, drives a red Mustang. I got a kick out of that.
Matt: I got a kick out of that too.
Thanks, everyone, for taking part in this meme!
I don’t remember a Yul Brenner movie that I didn’t like. Man he was good.
I did watch the Peter and Paul movie thinking it was pretty good for what it was, but it was really slow 😉
I wanted to thank you for this wonderful read!! I absolutely loved every little
bit of it. I have got you book-marked to check out new stuff you post…
