Who knew? Doesn’t seem like the Uniting Church in Australia did, at least until their recent 12th Triennial Assembly . There they chose to recognize Christianity’s common bond with Judaism and research their heritage. They also recognized the Church’s failures in that heritage and separation between both communities. My favorite quote from this article:
As Christians we need to remember that Jesus of Nazareth lived and died a faithful Jew.

Here’s hoping that more will continue to research the Jewish backgrounds to the New Testament so that we can better understand Christianity.

That’s good to know! I’m just glad somebody finally pointed it out!
I find it interesting that Jesus lived and died as a Jew, but they don’t mention what He rose as.
Yes, He died a Jew – but a faithful one? Really? Then why all the hubbub which led to His death?
Maybe we should ditch this ‘Christian’ thing and go be faithful Jews.

Although if you say that, one could make the case that the Jewish leadership of His day were the unfaithful Jews.
